IL HB3607

Allows minors age 12 and older who may come into contact with sexually transmitted diseases to consent to health care services and counseling for prevention, diagnosis, or treatment without parental consent.

Expands consent authority to include minors who may be determined to be intoxicated, have a substance use disorder, or have family members who abuse drugs or alcohol.

Requires health care providers furnishing services or counseling to make reasonable efforts to involve the minor's family in treatment if the provider believes family involvement will not be detrimental to the minor's care and progress.

Makes the minor's consent valid and binding as if the minor had reached legal age, and prevents the consent from being voided or later disaffirmed due to the minor's age.

Requires all sexually transmitted disease incidents to be reported to the State Department of Public Health or local board of health in accordance with regulations.
