• Charter school boards must include at least one parent or guardian of a currently enrolled student within one year of the law's effective date, selected through election, appointment, or the school's Parent Teacher Organization.

• All voting board members must complete a minimum of 4 hours of professional development leadership training within one year of the law's effective date or their first term, covering financial oversight, principal evaluation, Freedom of Information Act compliance, and education law.

• Board members must complete a minimum of 2 hours of annual professional development training in subsequent years in the same subject areas.

• Training may be provided or certified by a statewide charter school membership association or other qualified providers approved by the State Board of Education.
