IL HB3699

Allows a driver with a valid Class D driver's license to operate a multifunction school activity bus (MFSAB) for curriculum-related activities if the school district does not have a full-time employee holding a school bus driver permit.

Prohibits MFSAB operation on regular bus routes from home to school or from school to home, even when a Class D license holder is driving.

Establishes conditions for MFSAB use including compliance with vehicle safety requirements in sections 6-106.11, 6-106.12, 12-707.01, 13-101, and 13-109 of the Illinois Vehicle Code.

Applies to specific schools including Acacia Academy, Alexander Leigh, Marklund, Helping Hands Center, Connections Organization, Soaring Eagle Academy, and New Horizon Academy for students in grades 9-12 or K-12 with specific IEP requirements.

Takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
