IL HB3704

Adds new subsection (6.5) requiring the Department of Juvenile Justice to develop policies and procedures promoting family engagement and visitation appropriate for juvenile populations.

Adds new subsection (3.5) requiring the Department to retain custody and control of adjudicated delinquents released under specified sections, provide post-release treatment and services, and supervise youth during their release period according to Department or Prisoner Review Board conditions.

Removes reference to juveniles from Section 3-6-1, specifying that the Department shall designate institutions and facilities maintained for persons assigned as adults only (striking "and as juveniles").

Clarifies the Department of Juvenile Justice's authority to assist youth with reintegration into society through a continuum of post-release services and supervision.
