IL HB4023

Amends the State Finance Act to require State travel reimbursement rates for lodging, mileage, and meal allowances to match the maximum rates established by the federal government under 5 U.S.C. 5701-5711.

Directs the Travel Regulation Council to adopt reimbursement rates in accordance with federal maximum rates effective upon passage of this amendatory act.

Mandates that when federal travel reimbursement rates increase or decrease during the State's fiscal year, the new State rates take effect on the same date as the federal change.

Removes previous language allowing individual travel control boards to set more restrictive lodging reimbursement rates than federal regulations.

Blanks out previous subsections (b), (c), and (e) that contained specific mileage, meal, and lodging reimbursement provisions to be replaced by the federal rate-matching requirement in new subsection (f).
