IL HB4050

Amends Section 11a-9 of the Probate Act of 1975 regarding reports required for guardianship petitions for adults with disabilities.

Expands the requirement for evaluators from "licensed physician only" to "licensed physician or other licensed person who has treated or advised the respondent or assessed the respondent's relevant physical or mental condition."

Maintains existing requirements that reports must include descriptions of disability, evaluation results, opinions on guardianship necessity, and living arrangement recommendations, all based on evaluations performed within 3 months of petition filing.

Keeps existing provisions allowing courts to appoint independent experts at petitioner's expense and protecting report confidentiality while making reports available to relevant parties and appellate courts.
