IL HB4063

Applies to school districts with more than 275,000 inhabitants and requires schools to provide written notification to parents or guardians when a student commits misconduct.

Schools must provide copies of any student statements relating to the misconduct to parents or guardians within 24 hours after the statement is made.

Schools must provide copies of disciplinary reports to parents or guardians within 48 hours after completion, including a description of the misconduct, disciplinary actions imposed with duration, and the school's justification and rationale for the disciplinary action.

Disciplinary reports must redact the names and identifying information of any other students involved in the misconduct.

The act takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
