Amends the Property Tax Code to change valuation rules for properties with solar energy systems beginning in assessment year 2020.

Beginning in assessment year 2020, the chief county assessment officer shall automatically apply the lesser of two values: the property value without the solar energy system or the property value with the solar energy system.

Property owners are no longer required to file an application to claim the alternate valuation for solar energy systems starting in assessment year 2020.

Until assessment year 2020, the previous rules remain in effect requiring property owners to file a claim for alternate valuation with the county assessment officer.
