IL HB4133

Amends the Illinois Public Aid Code to require the Department of Healthcare and Family Services to reimburse epilepsy specialists for telehealth services provided to persons with epilepsy or related disorders.

Expands existing telehealth reimbursement provisions to include epilepsy treatment services alongside behavioral health and medical services.

Requires the Department to establish rules defining epilepsy specialists and creating a reimbursement method for epilepsy treatment services delivered via telehealth.

Maintains existing requirements that a physician or licensed health care professional be present at the patient's location during telehealth services, but prohibits requiring their physical presence in the same room for the entire service duration.

Takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
