• Requires governing boards of all public universities in Illinois to mandate that undergraduate students meet with a career adviser at least once during their undergraduate education as a prerequisite to degree conferral.

• Applies to eight public universities: University of Illinois, Southern Illinois University, Chicago State University, Eastern Illinois University, Governors State University, Illinois State University, Northeastern Illinois University, and Northern Illinois University.

• Amends the governing acts of each university by adding new sections establishing the career adviser meeting requirement.

• Takes effect January 1, 2021.
