Charter schools are prohibited from using unsatisfactory physical fitness completion as the sole reason to deny student promotion to the next grade level.

Charter schools are prohibited from using student discipline policy violations (including demerits, detentions, or suspensions) as the sole reason to deny student promotion to the next grade level.

The bill amends Section 27A-5 of the Charter Schools Law of the School Code.

The bill takes effect upon becoming law.
