Amends the County Jail Act to require the State to reimburse counties for costs of maintaining incarcerated individuals beyond 30 days when the Department of Human Services fails to provide bed space within that timeframe.

State reimbursement applies when a court orders a person in county jail placed in Department of Human Services custody for mental health treatment and the department cannot find available bed space.

The 30-day period begins after the sheriff notifies the Department of Human Services of the court order.

Reimbursement applies to persons: charged with an offense and ordered to Department of Human Services mental health treatment; imprisoned for misdemeanors; sentenced to county impact incarceration; or sentenced to periodic imprisonment at a county jail.
