• Petitions for temporary guardian appointments must be filed at the same time as or after filing a petition for adjudication of disability and appointment of a guardian.

• Temporary guardian petitions must state the factual basis, the proposed guardian's name, post office address, age, and occupation.

• Notice of hearings on temporary guardian appointments or revocation petitions must be given at least 3 days before the hearing by mail or in person to the alleged person with disability, proposed guardian, and other listed parties; courts may waive notice upon finding good cause.

• Temporary guardianship expires within 60 days of appointment or when a regular guardian is appointed, whichever occurs first, with limited extensions allowed in specific circumstances.

• The bill takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
