• School districts may maintain on-site trauma kits at each school containing tourniquets, compression bandages, hemostatic dressings, protective gloves, markers, scissors, and instructional documents from the Stop the Bleed campaign or American College of Surgeons.

• School boards must conduct in-service training for all school district employees on trauma response methods at least once every 2 years, including instruction on responding to life-threatening bleeding and using trauma kits.

• School boards may satisfy trauma training requirements using training programs from the American College of Surgeons or similar organizations, including online options.

• Trauma kit products shall be manufactured in the United States whenever possible.

• School district employees receive immunity from civil liability for use or failure to use a trauma kit unless the action constitutes gross negligence or willful or wanton misconduct.
