IL HB4690

Extends the timeframe for military dependents in temporary housing to enroll tuition-free in a school district from 60 days to 6 months after initial enrollment.

Requires military personnel to provide proof of residency within 6 months (instead of 60 days) that their dependent will be living within the district.

Allows acceptable proof of residency to include postmarked mail, lease agreements, or proof of property ownership located within the school district.

Permits non-resident military dependents attending school tuition-free to be counted for purposes of determining State aid apportionment under Sections 18-8.05 or 18-8.15 of the School Code.

Takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
