Appropriates approximately $54 million from the General Revenue Fund to local governments across 28 Illinois Representative Districts for non-competitive grants to community-based violence prevention organizations

Grants support violence prevention, youth services, after-school programming, trauma-informed counseling, job readiness training, street-level outreach, and capacity building for organizations using culturally competent approaches

Most districts receive $2,000,000, while the 29th Representative District funding is split among five municipalities (Chicago Heights, Dolton, Ford Heights, Harvey, and South Holland) at $400,000 each

Recipient local governments include Cook County, City of Chicago, Lake County, Winnebago County, Kane County, Peoria County, Champaign County, St. Clair County, and various townships and municipalities
