Amends the Department of State Police Law to require the Illinois State Police maintain a minimum of 2,500 active officers.

Mandates that if the number of active Illinois State Police officers falls below 2,500, the department must make every effort to retain officers and reach the minimum threshold as soon as practicable.

Authorizes the Illinois State Police to take all legal and reasonable steps to achieve the 2,500-officer minimum, including increasing training and recruitment efforts.

Takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
