School boards must collect and report data on student participation in computer science courses beginning with the 2020-2021 school year and each year thereafter.

Reports must include the total number of computer science courses offered per school and whether they are advanced placement classes.

Reports must show the number and percentage of students enrolled in computer science programs, broken down by gender, race/ethnicity, special education status, English language learner status, free/reduced-price lunch eligibility, and grade level.

Reports must include the number of computer science instructors at each school, disaggregated by certification status, gender, and highest academic degree.

School districts must post these reports on their websites, with the stated goal of ultimately closing the gender gap in computer science.
