Requires all Illinois school districts to include an annual unit of instruction on the Spanish language in their curriculum beginning with the 2020-2021 school year

Mandates that every student in grades kindergarten through 12 receive Spanish language instruction each year

Authorizes the State Board of Education to prepare and distribute resource materials to school boards as guidelines for developing the required instructional units

Amends the School Code by adding Section 27-23.15

May require state reimbursement under the State Mandates Act and may trigger the Fiscal Note Act
