Requires all health care professionals renewing their licenses in Illinois to complete evidence-based implicit bias training covering race, ethnicity, gender, identity, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, and other characteristics.

Applies to licensed dentists, dental hygienists, nurses, occupational therapists, optometrists, pharmacists, physical therapists, physicians, physician assistants, podiatric physicians, clinical psychologists, clinical social workers, speech-language pathologists, audiologists, and hearing instrument dispensers.

Training must include identification of unconscious biases, barriers to inclusion, corrective measures, effects of historical exclusion, cultural identity information, cross-identity communication strategies, power dynamics discussion, and health inequities in perinatal care.

Training curriculum must address how implicit bias impacts maternal and infant health outcomes and include perspectives from local community groups and experts on racial, cultural, and provider-community relations issues.

Department of Financial and Professional Regulation shall adopt rules to implement the requirements.
