Amends the Illinois School Code's sick leave provision (105 ILCS 5/24-6) to modify how paid sick leave is calculated for birth, adoption, or placement for adoption of a child.

Allows employees to take birth or adoption leave days at any time, not immediately after the birth or adoption event.

Permits birth or adoption leave days to be taken non-consecutively rather than requiring continuous use.

Prohibits school boards from counting non-school days toward the paid leave calculation, including extended breaks and days when school is not in session.
