Designates West Delmar Avenue in Godfrey between Staten Drive and Valhalla Cemetery as "Jake's Way Memorial Highway" to honor Captain Jacob "Jake" Ringering

Captain Ringering died in the line of duty on March 5, 2019, at age 37 after serving as a firefighter with the Godfrey Fire Protection District since August 5, 2010, and attaining the rank of captain on May 1, 2014

Ringering held multiple certifications including Firefighter II and III, Fire Service Instructor I and II, and Rescue Specialist Vertical II/High Angle, and served as technical rescue officer and respiratory protection officer for the district

Requests the Illinois Department of Transportation erect plaques or signs at suitable locations along the designated highway in accordance with state and federal regulations

Directs copies of the resolution be presented to Ringering's family, the Illinois Department of Transportation Secretary, the Mayor of Alton, and the Mayor of Godfrey
