SGT Vangelisti was born in Ottawa on June 26, 1947, graduated from Marseilles High School in 1965, and enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in August 1967

SGT Vangelisti entered active duty on January 18, 1968, was assigned to Vietnam in September 1969, and died on April 28, 1970 from injuries sustained in an aircraft accident

Requests the Illinois Department of Transportation to erect plaques or signs at suitable locations designating the memorial highway in compliance with state and federal regulations

Directs copies of the resolution to be presented to SGT Vangelisti's family, the Mayor of Marseilles, and the Secretary of the Illinois Department of Transportation
