Designates Illinois Route 47 as it passes through Gibson City as the "Vietnam Veteran William Eugene Campbell Memorial Highway"

Honors William Eugene Campbell, born October 24, 1948, who was killed in action on August 2, 1969, just under a year after being drafted into the U.S. Army on August 12, 1968

Campbell was the first and only casualty from Gibson City and received multiple military decorations including the Silver Star, Bronze Star, Purple Heart, and Combat Infantryman Badge

Requests the Illinois Department of Transportation to erect appropriate plaques or signs at suitable locations identifying the memorial highway

Directs that copies of the resolution be presented to Campbell's family, the Mayor of Gibson City, and the Secretary of Transportation
