Designates February 2019 as Career and Technical Education Month in Illinois to recognize CTE programs and their contributions to student success and economic growth.

Notes that approximately 414,000 students are enrolled in CTE programs across Illinois in fields including business and finance, healthcare, information technology, advanced manufacturing, and human services.

Recognizes February 23, 2019 as the 102nd anniversary of the Smith-Hughes Vocational Education Act of 1917, which established the first major federal investment in Career and Technical Education.

Acknowledges that the Strengthening Career and Technical Education for the 21st Century Act (Perkins V) will take full effect on July 1, 2019.

Directs that copies of the resolution be presented to the Illinois State Board of Education and the Illinois Community College Board.
