Urges creation of a South Suburban Youth Coalition and Violence Prevention Task Force to address youth violence and gun violence affecting school districts in the south suburban area, including Bloom Township High School District 206, Crete-Monee Community Unit School District 201U, and Rich Township High School District 227.

Strongly urges all affected school districts to provide education on the adverse effects of student violence using existing resources including teachers, deans, social workers, and psychologists.

Strongly urges each district to create proactive school policies addressing youth violence that focus on problem-solving and conflict resolution skills for Pre-K through 12 students and align with Illinois State Social and Emotional Learning Standards.

Urges districts to implement proactive solutions including peer mediation, school counseling, incident reporting, and school assemblies addressing student-to-student violence, gun violence, and school safety.

Requires districts to post the resolution at all school sites, distribute to staff and parents, have it read and voted on at school board meetings, and translate it into all languages spoken by students and parents in the south suburban area.
