Illinois reaffirms its commitment to strengthening sister-state ties with Taiwan, established in 1992, through bilateral trade, educational exchanges, cultural activities, and tourism.

Endorses Taiwan's efforts to negotiate a Bilateral Trade Agreement with the United States, which would reduce tariffs and facilitate trade between the two nations.

Supports Taiwan's participation in international organizations impacting health, safety, and well-being of its citizens, and Taiwan's contributions to global humanitarian efforts and disease control.

Directs copies of the resolution to be sent to Illinois Congressional Delegation members and the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Chicago.

Notes that in 2018, Taiwan was Illinois's sixth largest export market in Asia with $832 million in goods exported, and bilateral U.S.-Taiwan trade reached $76.3 billion.
