Illinois State Board of Education must review existing State and federal data reporting mandates to streamline the reporting system and eliminate redundant data collection.

The Board must study areas where data collection can be streamlined to reduce inefficiencies in the system for local school districts.

The Board must identify areas where school districts report the same data multiple times to meet different State and federal requirements.

The Board must examine data collection areas not required by State or federal mandates that do not improve educational outcomes for students and schools.

The State Board of Education must submit a report to the General Assembly by December 31, 2020 with findings and recommendations on how to streamline Illinois's school data reporting and collecting system.
