Commends Dr. Ngozi Ezike, Director of the Illinois Department of Public Health, for her leadership in guiding the State's response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Recognizes Dr. Ezike's 15+ years of service with Cook County Health, including her role as medical director at the Cook County Juvenile Detention Center where she implemented health policies that helped the facility exit federal receivership and achieve national accreditation.

Highlights Dr. Ezike's educational credentials including a degree with honors from Harvard College in chemistry and a medical degree from the University of California at San Diego.

Notes Dr. Ezike's previous experience as medical director at Austin Health Center on Chicago's West Side and her work as a national policy advisor on juvenile correctional health topics.

Directs that a suitable copy of the resolution be presented to Dr. Ezike as an expression of esteem and respect from the Illinois House of Representatives.
