Fred Moyers of Mounds, Illinois passed away on August 13, 2020, at age 96 after being born on September 20, 1923.

Served in the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II as a top turret gunner on a B-26 bomber with the 9th Air Force 394 Bomb Group, participating in the Normandy Invasion and Battle of the Bulge before being shot down on his 45th mission.

Received the European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with four bronze stars, two overseas service bars, an air medal, and six oak leaf clusters for his military service.

After the war, worked as a certified entomologist for Union Carbide for 17 years, owned Moyers Termite Control, served as a licensed real estate agent, and worked as Pulaski County Circuit Clerk for 25 years.

Illinois House expresses condolences to his surviving wife Helen, two children, four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and extended family.
