Congratulates Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Darien on its 50th anniversary on September 26, 2020.

Church was authorized by the Joliet Diocese in 1970 to serve the growing Catholic population in Darien, Willowbrook, Burr Ridge, and surrounding DuPage County communities.

Groundbreaking occurred in 1975 with formal dedication on September 26, 1976; the parish was named by Bishop Romeo R. Blanchette to honor the patroness of all Carmelites.

Recognizes the church's succession of pastors: Father Pat Gleeson (1970-1979), Father Russ Gavin (1979-1988), Father Jim Wilson (1988-1990), Father Gavin Quinn (1990-2006), and current pastor Father Michael O'Keefe (2006-present).

Commends all past and present administrators, religious leaders, parish council members, and parishioners for their service and stewardship of the church.
