Commends Mayor William D. "Bill" McLeod for 40 years of public service to the Village of Hoffman Estates, including service as village trustee from September 1980 to April 2001 and as mayor since April 2001.

Recognizes Mayor McLeod's focus on economic development and business retention, including creation of an Economic Development Committee, development of the Barrington Interchange, and a multi-million dollar deal to convert the former AT&T campus into a "metroburb" with 1.2 million square feet of office space, 60,000 square feet of restaurant and retail space, and 60,000 square feet of conference facilities.

Acknowledges Mayor McLeod's environmental advocacy, including signing the U.S. Conference of Mayors' Climate Protection Agreement and promoting wind and solar projects and bike paths in Hoffman Estates.

Notes Mayor McLeod's service in numerous regional organizations including the Schaumburg Regional Air Park Board, Northwest Municipal Conference (former president), U.S. Conference of Mayors, and Joint Action Water Agency.

Prior to his mayoral service, Mayor McLeod was a small business owner for 35 years, a legislative assistant to an Illinois State Representative for 4 years, and board member of the Greater Chicagoland Parents of the Hearing Impaired.
