Illinois House of Representatives mourns the death of Mark Kevin Tolbert, who passed away on November 16, 2020.

Tolbert was born on March 14, 1971, in Memphis, Tennessee and relocated to Chicago at age five to be raised by his aunt and uncle; he attended Gallistel Elementary School and Washington High School.

Tolbert married Rhonda Powell on February 3, 2009, and worked for Waste Management, Burger King, and the Blood Center of Illinois; he was baptized at Triedstone Baptist Church in Chicago.

Tolbert is survived by his wife, four children (Mitchell King, MarShun Kevin Tolbert, Marsalis Lyn Tolbert, and Michelle Ruth Anne Tolbert), two granddaughters, multiple siblings, and extended family.

House directs that a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Tolbert's family as an expression of sympathy.
