IL SB0111

Amends the Illinois Insurance Code to expand coverage for anesthetics and charges related to dental care provided to individuals with autism spectrum disorder or developmental disabilities.

Increases the age limit for coverage from 19 to 26 years old for individuals diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder or developmental disabilities receiving dental care in a dental office, oral surgeon's office, hospital, or ambulatory surgical treatment center.

Requires covered individuals to make 2 visits to the dental care provider prior to accessing other coverage under this provision.

Defines "developmental disability" to include conditions attributable to intellectual disability, cerebral palsy, epilepsy, or related conditions that manifest before age 22 and result in substantial functional limitations.

Permits coverage to be subject to the same limitations, exclusions, and cost-sharing provisions that apply generally under the insurance policy.
