• Requires the Department of Financial and Professional Regulation to adopt rules by January 1, 2020 mandating implicit bias training as part of continuing education for physicians licensed under the Medical Practice Act of 1987.

• Defines "implicit bias" as unconscious attitudes or stereotypes that can affect behaviors, decisions, and actions in the treatment of women and minority groups.

• Applies the same implicit bias training requirement to licensed practical nurses (LPNs), registered nurses (RNs), and advanced practice registered nurses (APRNs) under the Nurse Practice Act.

• Implicit bias training becomes a mandatory component of existing continuing education requirements: 50 hours per year for physicians, 20 hours per 2-year cycle for LPNs and RNs, and 80 hours per 2-year cycle for APRNs.

• Effective upon becoming law.
