IL SB1105

Amends the Pediatric Palliative Care Act to expand the program from a pilot to a permanent program and updates terminology from "potentially life-limiting illness" to "serious illness"

Raises the age of eligibility for qualifying children from 18 to 19 years old, with continued coverage until age 21 for those enrolled prior to age 19

Allows children with serious illnesses to receive community-based palliative care services while continuing to pursue curative or disease-directed treatments concurrently

Establishes that the Department of Healthcare and Family Services must provide technical assistance to Medicaid managed care organizations to ensure delivery of pediatric palliative care services

Requires the Department to submit a report to the General Assembly within 3 years assessing program outcomes, effectiveness, and recommendations for improvement, including review of eligible serious illnesses and necessary services for quality care
