IL SB1146

Allows election authorities to reduce the number of judges of election in each precinct from 5 to 3 for any election, except in counties with a population of at least 3,000,000 or where election judges are selected by election commissioners.

In counties under township organization, the county board may reduce judges from 5 to 3 for any election (with the same exceptions noted above).

Changes the requirement for boards of election commissioners in certain cities, villages, and incorporated towns from selecting 5 judges of election to selecting no less than 3 judges per precinct.

Adjusts political party representation requirements when only 3 judges serve in a precinct: no more than 2 persons of the same political party may serve (instead of the previous allocation for 5 judges).

Effective immediately upon becoming law.
