IL SB1147

Increases the standard election precinct size from 500-800 voters to 1,200 voters across all Illinois counties and municipalities.

Changes county board authority from "shall" to "may" when redividing, consolidating, or readjusting precincts to meet the 1,200 voter standard at regular June meetings or adjourned July meetings.

For cities with over 500,000 residents, changes requirement from "shall" to "may" rearrange precincts within 90 days of a presidential election when votes cast exceed 1,200 (previously 600).

Removes language allowing counties with fewer than 3,000,000 inhabitants to divide precincts containing more than 600 registered voters.

Takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
