IL SB1152

Amends the Counties Code and Illinois Municipal Code to permit counties and municipalities to adjudicate violations of distracted driving, red light violations, and automated traffic law enforcement system violations through administrative hearing units or code hearing units.

Specifically includes violations under Illinois Vehicle Code Sections 11-208.6, 11-306, 12-610.1, 12-610.2, 6-526, and 6-527, or similar local government ordinances, as exceptions to the general prohibition on administrative adjudication of vehicle code offenses.

Allows counties to adjudicate violations of ordinances from participating units of local government that lack their own administrative adjudication system and have entered into an intergovernmental agreement with the county.

Takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
