Department of Financial and Professional Regulation must provide written examinations in Chinese, Korean, Spanish, or Vietnamese upon applicant request for cosmetology, esthetics, nail technology, and related teacher licenses.

Department must adopt rules ensuring translated examinations are properly translated and consistent in terms of knowledge tested and difficulty.

Department is not required to administer non-English examinations if it determines English language knowledge is a necessary qualification for the specific license sought.

Applies to examinations for cosmetologists, estheticians, nail technicians, teachers, and clinic teachers under the Barber, Cosmetology, Esthetics, Hair Braiding, and Nail Technology Act of 1985.
