IL SB1165

Creates the Behavioral Health Workforce Education Center Task Force composed of representatives from Illinois public universities, the Department of Human Services, community behavioral healthcare organizations, and a children's hospital.

Task Force shall study concepts from House Bill 5111 of the 100th General Assembly and identify fiscal means for implementing those concepts through General Assembly funding.

Task Force must engage in extensive planning and data collection to address workforce capacity issues, including identifying a central data set for Illinois' behavioral health workforce since no such repository currently exists.

Task Force members receive no compensation and shall elect a chairperson from non-governmental members by majority vote.

Board of Higher Education shall provide technical support and administrative assistance; Task Force must submit findings and recommendations to the General Assembly by December 31, 2019.
