SB1219 Summary

• Amends the Workers' Compensation Act to change when temporary total incapacity compensation begins for volunteer, paid-on-call, and part-time firefighters, emergency medical technicians, and paramedics.

• Compensation for temporary total incapacity now commences on the day after the accident (instead of the 4th day) when the incapacity lasts 14 days or more from the day of accident.

• Applies to employees who are volunteer, paid-on-call, or part-time firefighters, EMTs, or paramedics covered under workers' compensation.

• Takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
