IL SB1220

Establishes licensure requirements for naturopathic physicians in Illinois under the Medical Practice Act of 1987, including education from approved naturopathic medical programs and passage of the Naturopathic Physicians Licensing Examinations (NPLEX).

Increases the Medical Disciplinary Board from 11 to 12 members and the Medical Licensing Board from 7 to 8 members to include one naturopathic physician on each board.

Allows naturopathic physicians to be certified to provide medical certificates for school employees' sick leave absences and for compulsory school attendance exemptions, similar to existing provisions for MDs, DOs, and chiropractors.

Permits naturopathic physicians to apply for licensure by endorsement in Illinois and authorizes them to pursue temporary licenses for graduate training programs.

Makes conforming amendments across multiple state statutes (insurance code, school code, health arbitration act, physical therapy act, and others) to recognize naturopathic physicians alongside other licensed health care providers.
