IL SB1234

Expands the Executive Ethics Commission's jurisdiction to include vendors and others doing business with State agencies, in addition to current coverage of State agency officers and employees.

Maintains the Commission's 9-member structure with appointment authority divided among the Governor (5 commissioners) and four constitutional officers (1 each: Attorney General, Secretary of State, Comptroller, Treasurer).

Requires Senate confirmation of commissioners by three-fifths majority, with nominations deemed approved if not acted upon within 60 session days.

Establishes eligibility restrictions preventing commissioners with felony convictions, recent lobbying activity, family relations to appointing authorities, or current State employment from serving.

Takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
