• Elected officials receiving Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund pension benefits for a specific position cannot simultaneously receive salary or compensation from that same position, effective at the beginning of their next term.

• County board chairpersons selected by the board (not elected) may be removed with or without cause by a four-fifths affirmative vote, with compensation prorated to the removal date and the vice-chairperson immediately assuming duties without chair compensation.

• Counties may deny, suspend, or terminate vendor eligibility for contracts exceeding $30,000 if the vendor fails to disclose familial relationships between county elected officials or department directors and the vendor's officers, managers, or partners; contracts with disclosed relationships require county board roll call vote approval.

• Newly elected countywide officials must be notified within 10 days of election certification about the option for a transitional audit at county expense to examine predecessor fund expenditures for consistency with board allocations.

• Forest preserve district officers may be removed with or without cause by four-fifths board vote, with compensation prorated and successors elected at the next regularly scheduled meeting.
