IL SB1319

Amends the Illinois Act on the Aging to add a definition of "greatest social need" that includes noneconomic factors restricting daily activities or independent living, such as physical or mental disability, language barriers, and social isolation based on racial/ethnic status, sexual orientation, gender identity, or HIV status.

Adds Section 97 to the Assisted Living and Shared Housing Act prohibiting residents from being subjected to unlawful discrimination as defined in the Illinois Human Rights Act by any owner, licensee, administrator, employee, or agent of an assisted living establishment.

Exempts actions required by the Assisted Living and Shared Housing Act or its adopted rules from the prohibition on unlawful discrimination.

Takes effect upon becoming law.
