SB1336 Summary

• Exempts applicants with federal conservation agreements (candidate conservation agreements, habitat conservation plans, or safe harbor agreements) approved by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service from requiring state incidental taking permits under the Illinois Endangered Species Protection Act.

• Species listed as endangered or threatened by Illinois only (not federally listed) remain subject to state permit requirements and conservation plan provisions including impact assessments, mitigation measures, and adequate funding assurances.

• Requires the Endangered Species Protection Board to include one landowner member representing the state's largest general farm organization among its appointed members.

• Removes the requirement for public notice and hearing when federally-listed species are automatically added to the Illinois endangered species list.

• Takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
