IL SB1361

Adds Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) employees to the list of protected classes under Illinois aggravated battery law.

Creates a Class 1 felony for knowingly causing great bodily harm, permanent disability, or disfigurement to a DCFS employee performing official duties, being prevented from performing duties, or being battered in retaliation for official duties.

Creates a Class 2 felony for battering a DCFS employee (without causing great bodily harm) while performing official duties, being prevented from performing duties, or being battered in retaliation for official duties.

Aligns DCFS employee protections with existing protections for peace officers, firefighters, correctional institution employees, and other public servants under aggravated battery statutes.
