IL SB1450

Adds a new form of intimidation (Section 12-6) making it illegal to threaten someone to cause them to falsify, amend, or withdraw a report of their own abuse.

Creates aggravated intimidation offense (Section 12-6.2(a-5)) when intimidation involves forcing someone 60 years or older or a person with a disability to falsify, amend, or withdraw an abuse report.

Defines "abuse" as causing any physical, mental, or sexual injury to a person, including exploitation of their financial resources.

Defines "person with a disability" as someone with a physical disability or mental impairment from disease, injury, or congenital condition that prevents them from adequately providing for their own health and personal care.

Establishes aggravated intimidation under these circumstances as a Class 2 felony with mandatory sentencing of not less than 3 years nor more than 14 years imprisonment.
