IL SB1492

Amends Section 11-1414.1 of the Illinois Vehicle Code concerning school transportation of students in grades K-12.

Exempts first and second division motor vehicles from transportation requirements when operated by school entities to transport students to or from agrarian-related school activities.

Maintains existing requirements that students be transported in school buses or compliant vehicles for curriculum-related activities, with limited exceptions for certain special education students attending specified schools.

Multi-function school activity buses (MFSAB) remain restricted to non-regular-route curriculum-related activities and require drivers to hold valid school bus driver permits.

Takes effect upon becoming law.
